Reserve bank zooms in on Markus Jooste
Updated | By Mmangaliso Khumalo
South African authorities have given the first clear indication that they now have Markus Jooste in their scope.

On Tuesday, the sheriff acted on a court order issued in the Western Cape High Court, giving the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) the go-ahead to attach assets belonging to Jooste, his wife Ingrid and son Michael.
The assets form part of a family trust called Silver Oak.
Jooste was Steinhoff CEO until 2017, when the company became embroiled in one of the biggest auditing scandals in South African history.
Assets attached include the multimillion-rand historic Lanzerac Wine Estate in Stellenbosch.
