Economic experts say we can expect some good news when the Reserve Bank makes an interest rate announcement this week.
The central bank's Monetary Policy Committee is meeting from today for the next three days - to decide whether to hike or lower the repo rate - or leave it as it is.
The MPC's decision will be announced on Wednesday and will come just days after rating's agency Moody's decision to leave the country's credit rating unchanged while revising our outlook from negative to stable.
Economist, Dawie Roodt says things have been looking up.
"Part of the reason has to do with the rand behaving very nicely for the last couple of weeks as well as the non-downgrade we received from Moody's. I'm quite optimistic the Reserve Bank will make use of this opportunity to cut interest rates," Roodt said.
