Updated | By Lauren Beukes
iLembe officials say repairs to fire-damaged equipment at the Sundumbili water treatment plant will start on Tuesday.

Some areas in the municipality have had to make to do with very little or no water since a transformer blew on Sunday.
A portion of the clear water pump station was torched.
Contractors were on site on Monday to assess the damage.

The municipality's Xolelwa Mazibuko says they're waiting for a transformer delivery from Eskom, and it might take up to a week for taps to fill up.
"We started looking at the scope, it may take them two to three days of the actual completion. If it happens less than that, that will be a bonus.
"And remember even if the finish on the second or third day estimating, it will not mean water [will be supplied] to everyone on the same day, it means we are starting to run the treatment plant."
