Repairs begin on flood-damaged N2 Amanzimtoti - Sanral
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The South African National Roads Agency (Sanral) says work has begun to repair the flood-damaged N2 north in the vicinity of Amanzimtoti.
Project manager Trevor Zumani says they have embarked on a three-week project to restore mobility on the route for now.
But he says the damage from the floods in April was extensive.
Professionals still need to be hired to close a giant sinkhole.

"There by Adams Road, the sinkhole that had developed there has been causing havoc by Amanzimtoti. Permanent repairs have gone out by tender, but because of difficulties in the procurement process, we are now going to be doing phase one using maintenance contracts.
"Through phase one repairs, we intend to restore mobility while we await for the permanent tenders to do the permanent repairs."
