Repairs at Sundumbili water plant set to be completed by Friday
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Officials in iLembe say repairs to the Sundumbili Water Works are expected to be completed on Friday.
A transformer exploded at the pump station on Sunday.
It resulted in a fire and caused water outages to Mandeni and KwaDukuza.
"Eskom has appointed their contractor who will then be responsible for the installation of the new transformer," says the district municipality's Xolelwa Mazibuko.
"Both contractors have estimated a period of three days from today for the period that they will be able to finish the repairs by Friday."

"Once they finish then that will mean that we can start the process of treatment of water."
She's reminded residents once the station is up and running again it will take time for the supply to reach them.
"It will take us some time to get water to the command reservoirs and the distribution reservoirs, and not everyone will get water on Friday. People may start, those on the lower points, getting from Saturday. But Friday is basically the completion of the repairs."
Water tankers are still being provided to affected communities.
