Recharge frenzy' when load shedding has Ramokgopa worried
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Electricity Minister, Kgosientsho Ramokgopa has warned against what he's
described as an uncontrolled recharge frenzy once power returns following load
shedding.

The minister gave an update on the country's energy crisis on Friday.
Ramokgopa said while the situation has not changed, officials have noticed patterns which have been adding stress to the grid.
He said once power returns there's a sudden influx on the grid which takes it back to high-pressure levels.
"So part of the problem that we have is a surge in demand when the lights come back after load shedding.
"What people do, is they consume what they need to consume and simultaneously charge the backup, so we are asking them don't charge it all the time. Charge at night when demand is low."
