eThekwini spokesperson Msawakhe Mayisela said they are aware of the problem. "We have escalated it and very soon will attend to it. We sincerely apologies for the inconvenience this may have caused. We are appealing to the public to please assist us by ensuring they do not dispose foreign objects in the system, because it is responsible for clogging the system. 72 percent of manholes that are clogged are a result of alien objects entering the system," he said. This video has been sent to me of raw sewage flowing into the harbour via the canal at Alan Paton Road. I’ve reported it urgently to the City Manager, who has responded. This city is facing an absolute crisis regarding water and sewerage. pic.twitter.com/jbEgh3whH4
