He is due to appear before a magistrate's court on Tuesday.

Outside, incensed community members say they will make their voices heard by demonstrating.

The Department of Social Development in KwaZulu-Natal says it's horrified by the allegations.

Spokesperson Mhlabunzima Memela says social workers have been sent the children's homes to support their families.

"These are one of the very horrific incidents that we have seen or heard as the Department of Social Development.

"We are hoping that the court would actually play a critical role in ensuring that a person accused of such heinous crimes will get punished and we want to see all those involve being punished and sent to jail for the longest time."
