Rape accused Nicholas Ninow pleads guilty

Nicholas Ninow has pleaded guilty to rape in the Pretoria High Court.

Ninow's trial got underway this morning.

The 22-year-old is accused of raping a 7-year-old girl at a Dros restaurant in Pretoria in September last year.

Ninow has pleaded guilty to two counts of rape, the possession of drugs and defeating the ends of justice.

State prosecutor, Dorah Ngobeni explained the charges in court earlier:


The State argues that Ninow followed the girl into the bathroom at the restaurant and attacked her.

A video taken at the premises and shared widely on social media after the attack showed a man covered in blood being shouted at by angry patrons.

Ninow was sent for psychiatric observation and deemed fit to stand trial.
