Ramokgopa: VGBE report led to greater stability at Eskom
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa says a report commissioned by Treasury as part of a sustainable power utility plan has led to greater stability and progress at Eskom.
The recommendations of the VGB Energy Report were welcomed by the power producer earlier this month.
They include the appointment of new CEO Dan Marokane.
During a briefing on Monday, Ramokgopa said they identified ten focus areas which predate the report.
"The first one is around the plant condition, something that is being elevated in the VGBE report and something that has been receiving attention. The issue of inadequate capacity is part of responding to people’s issues, including skills and experience.”

Ramokgopa said there's been some headway, including Treasury relaxing some requirements to speed up procurement.
