Ramokgopa presents load shedding action plan to ANC

Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa on Monday presented an action plan for resolving the rolling blackouts to the ANC's national working committee.
Ramokgopa says he's confident about the measures taken to address load shedding beyond winter.
"As the governing party they are invested in the resolution of this problem and we have to present an action plan We are ready to share with the NWC, go to Cabinet and then we will make it public so that we provide relief to the South African people and it's economy."

Meanwhile, Another round of wage negotiations between the unions and Eskom is due to start later this week.
The National Union of Mineworkers want a 15% pay increase across the board, among other demands.
The NUM's Livhuwani Mammburu says workers on the ground are struggling to stay afloat financially while Eskom spend millions monthly.

"There is a lack of trust because the unions want to stablize the power utility but Eskom wants a one year agreement which we feel it s not going to be ok because we want a multi-year agreement so that we can also deal with the issue of load shedding that is affecting the country."
Negotiations are due to start on Wednesday.
