Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa says much of the progress being made in fighting HIV and Aids is due to the assistance provided by the United Nations.

Ramaphosa has been speaking after a brief meeting with UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban.
He thanked the UN for ensuring that health issues are at the centre of its agenda.
"We thank the Secretary General and the UN for the support, the guidance and advice that we have received on a continuous basis from the UN.
"We also spoke about a whole number of other issues but it revolved largely around the conference's agenda in terms of what we hope this conference is going to achieve," he said.
