Ramaphosa vows to fight state capture in honour of Mam' Winnie
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
President Cyril Ramaphosa says government will do everything possible to fight graft and state capture, in honour of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela.
Ramaphosa was speaking at an Eastern Cape memorial service for Madikizela-Mandela in her hometown of Bizana earlier.
"If there was anything Mam' Winnie hated, it was corruption and this demon come into our midst now called state corruption," he said.
He also told mourners that people have been trying to tarnish Madikizela-Mandela's name.
"I am making this point about Mam' Winnie, being a product of a time because their are some within our borders and beyond who have sought to demonise her character, even in her death, by referring to what they deem to be massive excesses on her praxis of the revolutionary struggle against apartheid," he said.
