Ramaphosa to meet with Chatsworth community today
Updated | By Bernadette Wolhuter
President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to finally make good on a promise he made to the community of Chatsworth - south of Durban - two months ago, and meet with residents there today.
The President was a no-show at a planned meeting at the Nelson Mandela Youth Centre in early July. He later apologised to the irate community saying his absence was due to unforeseen circumstances, other urgent meetings and issues with flight co-ordination.
The meeting was rescheduled to the following week but it again never went ahead.
In a statement issued on Tuesday the provincial secretary of the ANC, Mdumiseni Ntuli, said the President would be meeting with Chatsworth residents at the youth centre at 3 O'Clock this afternoon.
This as part of the Thuma Mina campaign a national initiative aimed at encouraging patriotism and volunteerism in a bid to address the challenges facing the country.
Ntuli has once again apologised on behalf of the President for his not being able to attend the meetings scheduled in July.
