Ramaphosa to appear before state capture commission next week

President Cyril Ramaphosa will now appear before the commission of inquiry into state capture on 11 and 12 August.
He will testify in his capacity as president of the country.
Ramaphosa was supposed to give evidence at the inquiry on the 31st of May and 1st of June.
But the Presidency said it had agreed to a request from the commission to reschedule the president's appearance to a later date.

In a statement on Monday, commission secretary, Professor Itumeleng Mosala said Ramaphosa is first expected to wrap up his evidence in relation to the ANC in his capacity as party president.
He will then be questioned in his capacity as current state president and former deputy president of the country.
