Ramaphosa says inequality persists in SA 30 years on

President Cyril Ramaphosa says South Africa remains a highly unequal society, despite the progress made in the three decades of democracy.
He says the widening gap between the rich and poor threatens to undermine the country's achievements.
Ramaphosa delivered the keynote address at the Union Buildings to mark Freedom Day on Saturday.

He’s acknowledged many homes still don't have electricity, clean water and other services.
"We see this divided access to health care, access to safe transport, and proximity to work services and opportunity. We know that if we work together - if we harness the same spirit of unity that we did in 1994, we will surely overcome these challenges that confront us."
