Updated | By Newswatch
The President has removed
Busisiwe Mkhwebane as Public Protector.

Mkhwebane published the letter on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday morning.
In the letter, President Cyril Ramaphosa informs Mkhwebane that the process against her has been finalised following the two-thirds majority vote in Parliament on Monday.
In the letter published by Mkhwebane this morning, the president quotes the related sections of the Constitution - giving him the power to remove the head of the Office of the Public Protector, after the finalisation of the necessary proceedings and requirements.
Ramaphosa states that in terms of the Constitution, he must remove her in the event of the National Assembly adopting a resolution for her removal.
The president goes further to state further it's on the grounds of misconduct and incompetence.
Mkhwebane hit back, saying she would challenge the decision in court and apply for the process to be reviewed.

She goes further to say she wishes South Africans could see such efficiency in the fight to end loadshedding.
Her removal came about a month before her term was supposed to have come to an end.
This concludes with her now widely publicised saying "If I perish, I Perish".
