President Cyril Ramaphosa has been recused from the special ANC NEC sitting to discuss the findings of the Phala Phala report.

Members initially met at the Nasrec Expo Centre in Johannesburg on Friday to discuss the report amid mounting pressure for Ramaphosa to resign.

But that gathering was adjourned not long after it started.
The Section 89 panel found preliminary evidence that Ramaphosa may have violated the Constitution over how he handled the robbery at the private Limpopo farm.
The meeting never got underway and it was adjourned for the party's members to read the report.

On Monday ANC spokesperson Pule Mabe said Ramaphosa requested to be recused from the sitting.
Mabe confirmed it to reporters.
"We do it all the time. When there are issues or a report being tabled involving individual cadres, whether it is the president or not, it is courteous to ask them to be outside such meetings so that you give the meeting the space to reflect on issues without feeling otherwise."
