The Presidency released the official national gazette signed by President Cyril Ramaphosa on Friday.

The proclamation means the voters' roll will close at midnight.

Eligible voters have until then to register to cast their ballots or update their details.

There are currently 27.6 million voters on the roll.

Earlier this week, the IEC said it would publish the election timetable after consultation with the party liaison committee.

The timetable will outline the various cut-off dates for performing certain electoral activities.
