Ramaphosa: Focus should be on how GNU will govern together
Updated | By Tamasha Khanyi
President Cyril Ramaphosa says every effort must be made to ensure the success of the government of national unity.

In his weekly newsletter, he says political parties must focus on working together for the sake of the South African people.
While South Africans wait with anticipation for the president's cabinet announcement, Ramaphosa has emphasised that GNU members shouldn't argue over political appointments.

So far, ten political parties have joined the GNU after signing the 2024 Statement of Intent. The ministry will be proportionately shared between its members.
Ramaphosa's statement comes after the DA's Federal Council Chairperson, Helen Zille, said the party wants to have a more equitable power sharing in the GNU.
Ramaphosa says it's not about who will govern but how the GNU will govern together.
