Ramaphosa in Durban to address student concerns
Updated | By Shaun Ryan
Deputy president Cyril Ramaphosa is due to deliver the keynote address at the second Higher Education Summit in Durban today.
The summit has been convened to discuss among other things language policies, cultural transformation and the decolonisation of curricula at varsities and other institutions of higher learning.
The event takes place at the Durban ICC.
Ramaphosa's spokesperson Ronnie Mamoepa says the aim is to find a way to deal with these issues.
''The summit is a platform for discussion among students, university management, councils and other stakeholders on issues of concern in institutions of higher learning.
''The resolutions from this summit will empower the Ministry of Higher Education and Training and other role players with information to effect radical change in institutions,'' he said.
