There has been pressure on Ramaphosa to reshuffle his cabinet following his re-election as party President at the ANC's 55th conference at Nasrec in December.

The next cabinet reshuffle will likely be due to vacant posts including that of Minister of Public Service and Administration, after the departure of Ayanda Dlodlo, as well as some senior ANC members failing to be reelected to the NEC, including Pravin Gordhan, Naledi Pandor and Ramaphosa critic Lindiwe Sisulu.

The position of Transport Minister is also vacant after Fikile Mbalula was elected as the new ANC Secretary-General, a position that requires him to leave government and focus on organisational duties at Luthuli House.

The election of Paul Mashatile as ANC Deputy President means that David Mabuza will vacate the office of Deputy President.

Speaking to the media during a Golf day event in Bloemfontein on Friday Ramaphosa said he will make an announcement in due course.

"The question of cabinet reshuffle I think is the most prominent thing in your thoughts, but obliterate it and wait for the moment when the President would have applied his mind.

"Stop asking when that is going to happen. Just know that the President will apply his mind and will come to the nation and make an announcement.

"So relax, sit back, have a cup of coffee and watch the space."

The party hosts its 111th birthday celebrations at the Petrus Molemela stadium on Sunday.
