Ramakgopa: Richards Bay gas-to-power project to help ease grid

Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa says the Richards Bay open Cycle Gas Turbine Project could generate more power to the national grid.
He visited the plant yesterday which is a planned gas-fired power plant.
"It is going to be one of the biggest gas-to-power projects on the continent and we know that there is also private sector initiatives in the area, totaling close to 2 000 megawatts.

"So if you look at this complex it can give us 5 000 megawatts of gas-to-power.
The CCPP, located in the Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone (IDZ), is designed to have a maximum capacity of 3,000 megawatts, making it a pioneering initiative in South Africa’s energy landscape.#LeaveNoOneBehind🇿🇦 pic.twitter.com/9t9ge6yGD3
