The rainy
weather experienced in various parts of the country is set to continue, says
the South African Weather Service.
“We still have a tropical moisture in circulation over the central and eastern parts of South Africa during the course of today and even into tomorrow,” says forecaster Wayne Venter.
“We do have the possibility of scattered thundershowers, especially over central parts of the Eastern Cape during this afternoon. Some of the storms may become severe and produce some heavy rainfall and flash flooding especially over the eastern parts of the Eastern Cape.”
Venter says isolated thunderstorms are still possible on Tuesday afternoon in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.
“For the rest of the country we have some isolated thunderstorms still possible later this afternoon over parts of KwaZulu Natal and Gauteng. It’s a bit of a cloudy start to the day so that is going to keep temperature’s in the low to mid 20s over much of the central and eastern parts.”
He adds that the sun will only make an appearance again on Friday.
“Sunny conditions coming through from Friday into the weekend with no rain for central and eastern parts of South Africa during the course of the weekend with very hot conditions expected in western parts.”
