Rage blames 'media lies' for festival cancellations

A Rage Festival organiser has blamed the mainstream media for creating panic and hysteria, which he says eventually led to the cancellation of two events.
Group CEO Greg Walsh has taken to Facebook to express his anger and frustration after planned events for post-matric exam celebrations in Ballito and Plettenberg Bay were stopped last week.

The Ballito Rage was called off on Wednesday after 36 people tested positive for Covid-19 on day one.
Walsh says all efforts by their teams to enforce strict guidelines at the events - were erased by media reports.
"The events of this last week have really upset me. They have saddened me. They have brought deep despair and disruption to our organisations and our teams after two years of impossible.

"The media pressure that mounted on us, it was something extraordinary. Extraordinary to listen to media lie and spread panic and hysteria and all on politicians for us to cancel and call on parents for us to cancel and just continued to say things that weren't true."
