Radio legend Jeremy Mansfield loses battle against cancer
Updated | By Newswatch
South Africans are paying tribute to veteran broadcaster and media personality Jeremy Mansfield.
He died at the age of 59 in the early hours of Monday morning.
The radio legend had been battling liver cancer after his diagnosis earlier this year.
"He has been in and out of consciousness for the past few days. He fought it very bravely and very valiantly. He was with family and friends. He was very loved,” said his friend and former co-host Samantha Cowen.
Cowen told Darren, Keri and Sky on Monday morning that she'll remember him for his loud laugh and big heart.
"I think his legacy was being able to mold charity with fund, he was always raising money and he was never wordy about it.
"Whatever we did he was raising money whether we were doing a Rude Awakening cruise. Even then there was money going into the coffers and I think he managed to make being a decent human being fun."
