Racism cannot be tolerated: KZN Education

The KZN Department of Education has once again decried racism in its schools.
This time, in the wake of complaints having been levelled against teachers and management at Grosvenor Girls’ High School on the Bluff, south of Durban.
A high-level delegation visited the school yesterday in response to a raft of allegations, including that black pupils at the school are being subjected to a different hair policy to their white peers.
Departmental spokesperson Kwazi Mthethwa says their offices are investigating.
"Racism - whatever form of it - cannot be tolerated", he said.
"Not in KZN or anywhere in the country. So we take these allegations very seriously and that is why we are not waiting a minute longer as we will go straight into dealing with it head on", Mthethwa said.
