R76 000 stolen in Durban North armed robbery

KZN police say approximately R76 000 was stolen in an armed robbery at a petrol station in Durban North yesterday.

Gunmen targeted a cash-in-transit vehicle at a service station in Chris Hani Road early yesterday morning.
Although shots were fired, no serious injuries have been reported.
Leon Audh, who is with Greenwood Park SAPS, says the suspects fled the scene with one the security guards firearms.

"Two groups of men approached, one in a black Toyota RunX and the other in a white VW Polo, and held up the teller. They also held up a cash-in-transit company that was on the premises as well.
"They managed to get away with three boxes of cash," he said.
