R66 million for new Zulu King
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The Zulu Royal Household, under newly installed AmaZulu King Misuzulu KaZwelithini, has been allocated a budget of just over R66 million.

Premier Sihle Zikalala tabled his R802 million budget in the Provincial Legislature in Pietermaritzburg on Friday.
This year's royal allocation is about R5 million less than last year's amount.

Zikalala says the reduced budget will still be enough for the new Zulu Kin to carry out his duties and to cover events.
"This seeks to ensure that we provide support of the hosting of the annual traditional and cultural events.
"We also coordinate the King's Coronation Day, the prayers that are held at the royal house and we will also support other cultural activities including Umkhosi weSivivane, King Shaka, Umkhosi Womhlanga and Heritage events."
