R2bn boost for KZN economy from Dundee July: Sports MEC

KwaZulu-Natal’s Sports MEC has expressed confidence that this year's Dundee July will contribute significantly towards job creation and economic growth in the northern region.
The horseracing event will take place at the eNdumeni Horse Racing Track on Saturday.
Locals are gearing up for the spectacular, which will also include fashion and music,
The entire Umzinyathi District and the neighbouring Amajuba, Uthukela and Zululand districts are said to benefit from the economic spin-offs.

Speaking at the media launch, MEC Ntuthuko Mahlaba said the Dundee July would create about 40 000 job opportunities for locals, and boost the provincial economy by a staggering R2 billion.
"As Africans, we must learn to celebrate ourselves. This started as a small rural horse racing competition, but it is known internationally now.
"Everyone looks forward to the Dundee July. As I speak to you, all B&Bs are fully booked."
