Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Durban Tourism says a task team will soon get to work to identify areas in the CBD - that need to be restored.
R20-million been set aside to ensure the early phase gets off the ground.
The project falls under eThekwini's Local Area Plan which, according to the municipality, aims to see the city centre becoming as attractive as business and office parks on its outskirts.

Durban Tourism's Philip Sithole says security is a key focus of the revamp.
"It will deal with issues of cleanliness and security within the inner city. The other part is to deal with buildings that have been abandoned by owners. So it's going to be a long process but at least there's a direction on how we are going to move forward," he says.
