Abahlali march in Durban CBD against violent evictions
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
A protest march is getting underway in Durban's city centre this morning by members of shack-dwellers association, Abahlali baseMjondolo.
Thapelo Mohapi says they are calling for an end to brutal evictions. Mohapi says housing is another issue they want addressed.
"We do not think that 23 years down to democracy our own black people, who are coming to the city to seek better opportunities where the economic boom of the country is situated, must be denied an opportunity to be in the city," he said.
