R1m worth of illegal cigarettes seized
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Contraband cigarettes worth R1-million have been seized by SARS officials at the Beitbridge border post.

The Revenue Services says the cigarettes were found hidden in a trailer carrying a horse.
After the driver was found to not have a permit for the horse, a SARS official searched the vehicle.
He climbed into the trailer and discovered carpets hiding planks. The wood was covering a hole which contained several boxes of the cigarettes.
In a separate seizure, 100 cartons of illicit cigarettes were also confiscated at the Lebombo border post yesterday, after they were found hidden in the undercarriage of a taxi.
Officials also discovered 320 pairs of undeclared All Star sneakers in the minibus.
The suspect and goods have been handed over to the SAPS for further investigation.
