Officials seized crystal meth with a combined street value of an estimated R18-million during the course of the week.

On Saturday, SARS customs officials noticed suspicious objects inside three bags when conducting a baggage scan of a man who had flown to South Africa from Nairobi, Kenya.

Officers conducted a further search and  discovered 12 plastic bags containing a white powdery substance.

SARS says tests confirmed the substance was crystal methamphetamine, with a value of around R17.2-million.

In a separate incident on Friday, customs officials found a parcel destined for Malaysia via courier.

The parcel was declared as 'gifts'.

It was also found to contain a white powdery substance, later identified as crystal methamphetamine.

It was valued at just under R1-million.

Both cases have been handed over to police for further investigation.
