R1.5 bn KZN project launched eyed for economic recovery

Premier Sihle Zikalala says the business park being built in Hammarsdale will support economic recovery in KwaZulu-Natal.

Zikalala launched the R1.5 billion logistics project by Pepkor on Tuesday.
It'll provide some 2 000 jobs.

He says, situated alongside the N3, the complex will help decongest the port of Durban.
"It will without any doubt increase the port capacity by over 30 percent being able to handle more container volumes.
"Therefore, we trust that the reduction of congestion will eventually afford shipping lines to use the port of Durban to load all cargo destined for the export market."
