R1.35 bn set aside to get uninsured workers jabbed
The Department of Labour says it's put money aside to help three million workers to get the Covid-19 jab.
The department has set aside R1.35 billion to finance vaccines for workers who don't have medical aid cover.
It hopes this will contribute to the government's plan to inoculate 75% of the population.
The department says this will help ensure that a significant number of part-time workers get vaccinated instead of dealing with resultant claims.

Acting spokesperson Musa Zondi says plans are also in place to prevent corruption and fraudulent claims.
"There will always be people who will try their luck and we will always put systems in such a way that we can detect fraudulent activities and deal with it.
"So if I would tell you what we are going to do, then I would be telling those people exactly what we are going to do. But we have plans and we will make sure that if they try, they won't succeed."
