R100 million electricity bill will leave Ulundi residents in the dark

Residents of Ulundi are being warned to expect more electricity disconnections in the future if they fail to pay for their usage or use illegal connections.

The municipality owes Eskom around R100-million.


Mayor Wilson Ntshangase says they're going to do an electricity box audit, and if it is discovered that a meter box has been tampered with, the amount of electricity illegally used will have to be paid.

At the end of the day, there are expected to pay for the services. 


"I am actually pleading with the community that one is serving, that they should always pay for the services being rendered by the municipality because we depend on them paying for the services so that we can also pay the eskom debt," said Ntshangase.
