R1 million bank fraud duo out on bail, warning
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
Two KZN women arrested for defrauding a local bank over R1-Million have been released on bail.
Nelisiwe Mkhwanazi and Hlengiwe Ntshangase were nabbed by the Hawks on Friday in Mtubatuba during an intelligence driven operation.
Its alleged Ntshangase, who's employed at the bank, transferred cash from clients with fixed deposits without their permission.
She transferred approximately R1.1 Million into newly created bank accounts using Mkhwanazi's details and other accomplices.
KZN Hawks spokesperson Simphiwe Mhlongo says more arrests are expected.
"The two accused who were arrested in Mtubatuba appeared briefly before the Richards Bay regional court", he said.
"Ntshangase was granted R20 000 bail and Mkhwanzi was released on a warning and both will reappear at the same court on the 15th of March", Mhlongo said.
