A quarter of SA’s adults now fully vaccinated against Covid-19

South Africa reached the 25% mark of people 18 years and older now fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
This representation of 10 million adults was reached on Monday.
To reach herd immunity, the Health Department has targeted at least 28 million people to be fully vaccinated by this festive season.
According to the latest statistics released by the National Institute of Communicable Disease (NICD), a total of 19 242 116 people have so far received at least one dose.
A total of 189 258 vaccinations were administered yesterday.
Furthermore, the country recorded a total of 201 new cases in the last 24 hours up to Monday evening.
This is a 3.3% positivity rate.
The country’s fatalities have increased to a total of 88 346, after another 29 Covid-19 fatalities were confirmed.
