Pupil recovers after Drakensberg rescue mission
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
A schoolboy is recovering after emergency services brought him down from a mountain in the Drakensberg where he had fallen ill yesterday.

He was part of a school group that had gone on a hiking trip in the Giants Castle area.
Netcare 911's Chris Botha says an emergency services team, which included the Nsele ambulance service and park rangers from Ezemvelo, hiked for around three hours to reach him.
"They did a hike up the mountain and managed to stabilise the patient. They brought him down and transported him to hospital for further treatment.
"He remains in a stable condition. It was very well co-ordinated rescue efforts by emergency services and KZN wildlife staff," he said.
