The Department of Public Service and Administration has confirmed that public servants will receive non-pensionable monthly cash allowance on Thursday.

This is in terms of the public sector wage agreement that was reached by the government and public sector unions.
Civil servants are set to receive a monthly cash allowance of between R1 200 and R1 695 including the back pay to April 2021.
The deal included a 1.5% wage increase for employees who did not qualify for a pensionable increase.
“It should be noted that the Department of Public Service and Administration is also still busy with the implementation of the non-pensionable cash allowance for part-time employees. This will be finalized as soon as possible.
“The date for the implementation of the 1.5% pensionable increase, which was also provided for in the Resolution 1 of 2021, will be announced soon, “said the department’s director-general Yoliswa Makhasi.
Makhasi says for members of the South African Police Service, the non-pensionable cash allowance will be paid by no later than 20 September.
