Public outcry following Siam Lee's murder

There has been a public outcry following the discovery of Siam Lee's body on a farm in New Hanover in the Midlands.

The missing 20-year-old's family identified the body as hers on Thursday.

A farmer found Lee's body last Saturday, two days after she was last seen outside her place of work in Margaret Maytom Avenue in Durban North.

Despite family members positively identifying the body, police are waiting for the results of DNA testing for official confirmation.

People from across the province and country have taken to social media to send their condolences to Lee's loved ones.

They have condemned the murder and are calling for the perpetrators of the crime to be brought to book.

Lee's former school, Crawford North Coast, posted a message on its Facebook page describing her a kind-hearted, gentle, friendly, polite and helpful young woman.

It went on to say Lee always stood up for what was right and committed to what she believed in.
