PSA urges govt to increase public servants' salary
Updated | By Xolani Khumalo
It's the United Nations Public Service Day and local civil servants are calling on government to value the role they play in rebuilding the economy.
The Public Servants Association's Claude Naicker believes public servants should receive inflation-related increases to keep up with the cost of living.
He says they also want the battle against corruption to be intensified.
"We cannot do without our public servants and efficient public servants improve the economic situation for the entire country itself."

"Once again, we appeal to government to look after our public servants. They are the ones that are going to see us through the hard times.
"We must make sure that we pay them a decent salary increase so that they can also live like every other citizen in our country."
