PSA urges complete security overhaul at KZN Transport offices
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
A public servants'
union has called for a complete security system overhaul at the Department of
Transport's offices.

This after an attack on three women security guards at its Merebank branch, south of Durban this week.
Eight suspects, including a 19-year-old, were arrested on robbery and rape charges.
They are due to line up in court on Thursday.

The Public Servant Association's Mlungisi Ndlovu says a comprehensive review of all security systems and measures is needed.
"It is imperative that private security guards are armed and equipped with panic buttons. Several cameras must be installed in all departments, facilities and offices.
"It is evident that the criminals are becoming more dangerous and ruthless and the department's security must be prepared to respond to such malicious activities."
