At Cape Peninsula University of Technology, a shuttle was set alight during ongoing protests at the Cape Town campus.

The institution says it's had to suspend its campus bus service until further notice after the attack.

Disgruntled students at the University of the Free State, delivered a memorandum to university management.

At UCT, students occupied the upper campus library in protest. The university's calling on President Jacob Zuma to release the Fees Commission Report. Zuma established the commission in 2015 following widespread protests at universities.

It was meant to find out whether or not government will be able to implement free education in the country.

UCT spokesperson, Elijah Moholola, says this has prevented students and universities from responding to the commission's proposals.

"UCT was supposed to plan it's 2018 budget and normally have concluded consultation on next year's fees and other stakeholders by September.

"However, the university delayed decisions on fees, pending the release of this report in order not to pre-empt the recommendation of the fees commission. UCT will not be able to delay decisions on fees for much longer," he says.
