Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Durban metro police say they are trying to restore calm after protests erupted on a busy route in the vicinity of Cornubia north of Durban.
Monday morning’s demonstrations have led to the closure of the R102 bridge along Syringa Road.
Dozens of community members took to the streets this morning over service delivery issues.
The police's Boysie Zungu says they've blocked the road with burning debris.
"Metro police are on the scene, SAPS are on the scene. We advise motorists to use alternative roads that will be Umhlanga Rocks drive to avoid delays.”
