Protestors force closure of M25 near KwaMashu
Updated | By Lethiwe Mdluli
The M25 Highway near KwaMashu and some roads leading to Dube Village Mall were barricaded during a community protest in the Bhambatha area, north of Durban this morning.
Police say they are still waiting for solid waste workers to arrive to begin clean up operations.
The police's Thembeka Mbhele says about 200 people gathered in the area.
"They are complaining about service delivery issues. They want RDP houses. Police are at the scene. No cases have been opened as yet, as no damage has been reported," said Mbhele.
