Protestors block M19 near Umgeni Road
Reports from the scene suggest protestors earlier used rocks and burning tyres to block the M19. It's understood some people have also thrown stones at passing vehicles.
Police spokesperson Thulani Zwane says motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
"They block the road and then move away. The police are also on the scene, trying to monitor the situation there. For now there are no damages and injuries.
"There are no arrests made at this stage and the police are still monitoring the situation there," he said.
