Protesting bus drivers move to Umlazi highway
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
EThekwini bus drivers have blockaded the busy Mangosuthu Highway in Umlazi as part of their ongoing protest over unpaid December salaries and bonuses.

Earlier, about five buses blocked both directions of the highway outside Umnyandu station.
On Monday unhappy drivers abandoned their buses on the N2 and N3 highways before Cannongate, causing traffic delays.
The municipality has had to step in and offer to pay their monies on behalf of its embattled service provider, Tansnat.
The Metro Police's Lindiwe Putuzo says officers have moved the buses and are still monitoring the area.
"The traffic is now flowing. However, there is a backlog which goes as far back to the entrance from the M4 into Umlazi.
"If there is a backlog, drivers are advised to also use alternative routes which is going through Isipingo and enter from that side. Police are monitoring the situation," she said.
Earlier, eThekwini said at least 400 Tansnat employees recived their salaries and bonuses for December.
