Bruce is the editor-at-large at Tiso Blackstar Group, formerly Times Media.

Members of Black First Land First (BLF) gathered at his house following his opinion piece in which he wrote that he was targeted by the controversial Gupta family for writing critical articles about them.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Lloyd Ramovha says police have been deployed to Bruce's house.

"He came here, but he went back to his house to go speak to the protesters," says Ramovha.

Ramovha says Bruce did not lay criminal charges.

Bruce spoke to Jacaranda FM News from his house.

BLF's Andile Mngxitama says they are protesting against white monopoly capital.

"This is to bring to attention of the nation that there is a systematic campaign by white-owned media, led by Peter Bruce, to generate fake news to cover up massive corruption by white monopoly capital," says Mngxitama.
